Iced Americano
An Iced Americano is a cold drink made with ice, espresso, and chilled water. It’s the iced version of an Americano, which is made with just espresso and hot water. The drink must be made with espresso to be called an Iced Americano. If it’s made with any other kind of coffee, it’s no longer an Iced Americano. Espresso should be made in an espresso machine or a Nespresso.
Iced Cappuccino
An iced cappuccino is made by layering espresso and foamed milk in a glass of ice. It has a stronger espresso flavor than an iced latte, as it uses less milk in comparison. This makes it the perfect drink if you love intense coffee notes or simply craving a pick-me-up on a summer afternoon. There are many perks to making iced cappuccinos and other coffee drinks at home, one being the ability to customize the drink as much as you’d like.
Iced Espresso
Iced espresso is espresso served over ice, often with milk. It’s similar to iced coffee, but it uses espresso instead of brewed coffee. Starbucks calls this drink is an iced shaken espresso: the espresso is shaken with ice and sweetener before serving.Espresso machine: An espresso machine is the best option: it makes incredible espresso but it’s pricy. Portable espresso maker: A manual espresso maker is a great affordable option that makes very good espresso. French press: French press espresso also works well if you have this coffee tool. Moka Pot: Or, make very strong espresso-like coffee in a Moka Pot (Bialetti).
Iced Latte
Cool off with a refreshing iced latte. This simple drink only needs a handful of ingredients and is perfect for a hot weather caffeine kick.2 espresso shots (60ml)
2 tsp sugar, honey or maple syrup (to taste)
ice
100ml whole milk
Mix the hot espresso with the sugar until it dissolves.
Fill a glass with ice and stir in the sweetened coffee.
Pour over the milk and stir until combined.
Hot Americano
An Americano is an espresso drink made with hot water and espresso, also called a Caffe Americano. The drink can be made with either one or two shots of espresso, and varying ratios of water. Diluting the strong dark espresso roast brings the flavor closer to a drip coffee: which might be where the name originated! The exact origin of the term is murky. Decide on your drink size. A 1-shot Americano can mostly fit in an espresso mug (shown here). A 2-shot drink is best suited in a latte mug. Make the espresso. Use espresso roast coffee to make espresso using your favorite method: with an automated espresso machine, manual espresso maker, or Aeropress. Boil the water. Use a regular or electric teapot to boil the water. The standard ratio is 2:1 water to espresso, but you can go up to as much as 3:1. Mix the two and enjoy! Pour the boiling water into the espresso. Instant Caffe Americano!
Hot Cappuccino
Make the espresso using an espresso machine, espresso maker, or Aeropress (see above). Steam the milk (espresso machine method): Use the notes in the section above to steam the milk and get it nice and foamy. OR, heat the milk on the stovetop then froth it. A temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect: that’s where the milk is hot to the touch but not simmering. Then froth using your desired method to froth the milk until it’s very foamy. For a cappuccino you’ll want a good amount of froth: you’re going for ⅓ espresso, ⅓ steamed milk and ⅓ foam. Serve. Pour the frothed milk into the espresso and serve! It’s nice to use a latte cup, which holds the perfect amount.
Hot Espresso
Espresso is a delicious concentrated form of coffee, served in shots and it’s often the coffee base of many other beverages, such as cappuccino, latte, americano and macchiato. An espresso is intense and bold, but nonetheless delicious, and the espresso is usually served in small demitasse-style cups for this reason. Espresso has the reputation of having a high caffeine content. However, this depends on how much is drunk. Typically, espresso contains 29 to 100 milligrams of caffeine in a single shot. A double shot will contain between 58 to 185 mg of caffeine.

Cut a small slit in the center of each foil cover; insert a rounded wooden stick into each pop. Freeze pops for 4 to 6 hours or until firm.
Pineapple Smoothie
Spinach. As mentioned above, adding 1-2 cups of spinach won’t effect the taste or texture of this pineapple smoothie at all. It will change the color, but it’ll taste great AND have a bonus serving of veggies! Kale. If you’d like to add kale, I recommend adding 1 cup. Kale has a stronger flavor than spinach and could effect the taste! Protein powder. Adding a scoop of vanilla protein powder will both enhance the flavor AND give you a healthy dose of protein! I love adding protein powder to my smoothies and do it all the time. This Vanilla Protein Powder is my favorite (and it’s plant-based)! Chia seeds. Chia seeds are a nutritional powerhouse that can be added to this pineapple smoothie. I recommend adding 1-2 TBS and drinking the smoothie immediately.
